Summary (from Goodreads):
My name is Meghan Chase.
I thought it was over. That my time with the fey, the impossible choices I had to make, the sacrifices of those I loved, was behind me. But a storm is approaching, an army of Iron fey that will drag me back, kicking and screaming. Drag me away from the banished prince who’s sworn to stand by my side. Drag me into the core of conflict so powerful, I’m not sure anyone can survive it.
This time, there will be no turning back.
Okay, I wanted to finish this earlier and make a review about it but school keeps me off and makes me busy but anyway, I finished it and I’m glad I did because it was very beautiful, nice, sweet. I don’t know how to describe it coz it was really heart breaking. I cried at the end. I cried and I felt what Ash felt. It was a melancholic ending but hey, Ash said he wouldn’t give up.
Oh I so love Ash! He’s the sweetest, hottest, most handsome and most protective faery boyfie ever! He loves Meghan so much that he had to swear on his real name which is by the way, Ashallyn’darkmyr Tallyn, I know! It’s such a cute name LOL Anyway, he wills himself to protect her and be her knight, not just because he swore the oath of being a lady’s – Meghan’s – knight but he wanted it, truthfully. Ash wanted to be hers. He gave himself willingly. And I love this line:
“My name is Ashallyn’darkmyr Tallyn, third son of the Unseelie Court. Let it be known– from this day forth, I vow to protect Meghan Chase, daughter of the Summer King, with my sword, my honor, and my life. Her desires are mine. Her wishes are mine. Should even the world stand against her, my blade will be at her side. And should it fail to protect her, let my own existence be forfeit. This I swear, on my honor, my True Name, and my life. From this day on… I AM YOURS.“
Holy Lord! I just died. I hope someone’s willing to be my knight like Meghan LOL But of course, I’m no faery. Ha! Anyway, All that’s running in my mind right now is Ash and just Ash. I love him! He’s one of my favorite fictional leading male character. He’s just so determined. And I also love this line, this can be found at the near end of the book:
“I will always be your knight Meghan Chase. And I swear, if there is a way for us to be together, I will find it. No matter how long it takes. If I have to chase your soul to the ends of eternity, I won’t stop until I find you. I promise.”
Another promise to be kept. Oh Ash. And wait, don’t think I forgot about Puck. He’s charming and as sweet as Ash. He loves Meghan as well and he, like Ash, is willing to do anything for her. Why is it only for Meghan? Why not me? LOL She’s so lucky to have them both. And last sweet line, I love this, it was said by Puck:
“I think you’re good for him, Meghan. I see the way he looks at you, something I haven’t seen in him since the day we lost Ariella. And… I know you love him in a way you can’t love me. Jealousy isn’t something we deal with well, but some of us have been around long enough to know when to let go, and what is most important. The happiness of my two best friends are most important than an ancient feud. I have always loved you, princess. I always will. And I’ll take whatever you can give me.“
Whoa right? Just, WHOA! Puck is a bit of a martyr and a saint LOL he is willing to be friends with the girl he loves just so he can be near her and protect her at times she needs him. He is willing to make her use him if she needs him. How nice of him to wait and be there. I know he’s immortal and got all the time in the world and he can wait if he wants but still, Meghan is with Ash and Puck is willing to see them together just so he could be Meghan’s best friend/protector.
I love this book. So much drama, so much sweetness, so much love. I love Ash and Puck. They’re the best male characters, ever. And the quotes in this book are heart breaking, soul clenching and spirit sailing LOL but whatever. I’m going to buy the Iron Knight and will read it as soon as it lands on my hands, I promise.
